Rockin’ The Park one the UK’s classic rock summer festivals is set to return in August 2013 with appearances from some of the best heritage rock acts. Headlined by the recently re-formed Family and fresh from their critically acclaimed sell out London gigs, the band will make Rockin’ The Park at Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire their only UK festival appearance of 2013.

Supporting Family will be the unsung heroes of the British Prog movement Caravan who are revered as one of the most formidable acts to emerge from the 60’s progressive rock scene. Alongside Caravan will be Asia – the super-group formed in 1981, which included members of King Crimson, Roxy Music, Yes, Uriah Heep, Emerson and Atomic Rooster.

Other acts set to perform include Michael Chapman (whose album ‘Fully Qualified Survivor’ was John Peel’s favourite album of 1970) and Snakecharmer who consist of the original members of Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne, Heartland, Wishbone Ash, Thunder and Ash.

Set in the beautiful surroundings of the National Trust’s Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire -the ancestral home of the Duke of Newcastle, Rockin’ The Park takes place on Friday 16th August and is a one-day camping event for all the family.  For adults who want to keep partying till the early hours, Rockin’ The Park will host a VIP party in the park grounds for only 400 ticket holders.

Rockin’ The Park is one of a trio of events over the weekend of the 16th, 17th and 18th of August 2013 - which includes Flashback Festival – a celebration of 80’s Music and its best loved acts and Russell Watson and his Orchestra – a classical picnic concert supported by Amore.

So if you are looking for a great classic rock experience set in festival surroundings, with great facilities and the opportunity to camp in one of the most beautiful National Trust parks then come to Clumber Park this August for a night to remember.
