Round Hill Music has acquired the publishing catalog of rock band Lit including memorable hits “My Own Worst Enemy” and “Miserable.” Round Hill Records will also release the band’s seventh studio album in 2022.

Lit is considered one of the pre-eminent bands to have come out of the post-grunge era of the late 90's and helped define an entire generation of SoCal culture with their uncompromising pop melodies, punk rock work ethic, and hard-charging hits like “My Own Worst Enemy,” “Miserable," "Zip-Lock,", and "Lipstick & Bruises." The band has released six worldwide studio albums, including their RIAA Certified Platinum A Place in the Sun.

“We’re super proud to work with Lit. They are based in Nashville and they’ve often stopped by our complex to record, write or just hang. They are like family. Their music has always been great, but it seems to just get better as the years go by. We’re excited to acquire their catalog and steward that gem going forward, but also we are excited to work with them on their new record. Doing such a comprehensive deal including, catalog, frontline publishing and record deal shows how multi-faceted we are at Round Hill.” – Josh Gruss, CEO, Round Hill Music

Lit stood out as the rare act whose presence could initially be felt loud and clear at Woodstock ’99 and has continued to do so for more than twenty years. The Billboard Music Award-winning “My Own Worst Enemy” not only went double-platinum, but has been covered by Post Malone, Dustin Lynch, Chase Rice, Michelle Branch, Charlie Puth, Jimmy Fallon's Gentlemen's Choir, and dozens more. American Songwriter referred to the hit as “Among the most broadcasted, karaoked, and covered songs in modern music history.” Consequence of Sound named them one of the “100 Best Pop Punk Bands” and their music blared through American Reunion, Central Intelligence, Parks and Recreation, Rock Band, and beyond.

In 2021, the quartet—brothers Ajay [vocals] and Jeremy Popoff [guitar], Kevin Baldes [bass], and Taylor Carroll [drums]—are back in the studio preparing their seventh full-length album and debut for Round Hill Records.
Jeremy Popoff said, "I’m super pumped about our team at Round Hill. Everyone there has such a passion for music and it just feels like the perfect home for us. Josh has put together an all-star team that we’re excited to be working with. I can’t wait for the world to hear what we’re up to."

Ajay Popoff said, "We're excited to be working with Round Hill both as a band and as songwriters. This is the fit we’ve been waiting years for. The new Lit music is a refreshing throwback as well as a big step into the future of the modern rock genre.”
