Pete MacLeod to release second album Crestfallen on Friday 24th June

Youth-produced new album features Simon Tong & James McCartney

Glaswegian singer-songwriter Pete MacLeod has announced the release of his second album Crestfallen on Friday 24th June. The hypnotic set of widescreen Balearic indie rock showcases his soulful vocals, dense electronica soundscapes & talent for anthemic choruses.

MacLeod is a talented & diverse singer-songwriter unafraid to take risks in his pursuit of timeless yet inventive songs. With the success of his debut album Rolling Stone leading to tours of Europe, the UK & USA (including tour supports with The Happy Mondays, Cast, The Strypes, Amy MacDonald & Ocean Colour Scene) & Pete building a dedicated fanbase as well as groundswell of industry & celebrity support, he decided to re-invent his sound without sacrificing his gift for everyman melodies. Acclaimed producer Youth (The Verve, Pink Floyd, Primal Scream) was enlisted to guide this new sonic journey, & Pete was able to call upon the services of unique musicians like Simon Tong, James McCartney & Gerry Diver to further flesh out his songs with textured riffs & lush strings. The ten tracks on Crestfallen are built around atmospheric synths & keyboards rather than jangling guitars, with propulsive beats & MacLeod’s muscular vocals powering the tracks to their soaring choruses. With an album of finely crafted songs custom built for both a hazy summer sunrise & the dancefloor the night before, this new beginning looks very bright for Pete MacLeod.

Pete will be playing shows in support of the new album this summer. For more info, head to http://www.petemacleod.net
