HARRIET RELEASES CHRISTMAS SINGLE DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND

One of the UK’s most compelling debut vocal talents delivers a poignant musical message with her bitter-sweet Christmas single

“Discovered right here on this show...a lovely lady with a gorgeous, gorgeous voice" - Graham Norton, BBC Radio 2

"Quite extraordinary…Every hair on my body is standing on end” - Gaby Roslin, BBC Radio London

“An artist that can and will change the world” - Larry Flick

“A young artist causing quite a stir with the release of her debut album” - Stephen Sackur, BBC World News

Snowballing impressive media acclaim for her uniquely rich distinctive vocals, UK singer/songwriter, Harriet, celebrates an enviable year with a string of radio playlists and a debut album launch.  Now Harriet rounds-off this incredible year with a melodic Christmas gift that could well become a timeless classic; ‘Maybe This Christmas’ is available from 1 December 2016 and promises to stir-up emotions that you never knew existed.  Originally performed live on Graham Norton’s Seasonal Special in 2014, then again on Paul O’Grady’s Christmas Day show last year, ‘Maybe This Christmas’ has become a cherished classic amongst Harriet’s loyal fans and the singer now bows to public demand with the official release of the track this Christmas.

'Maybe This Christmas’ captures the profound magic behind the childhood elements of Christmas, depicting how these often slip away as we become adults. A universal message of wishing to return to a time of innocence and simplicity and a strong desire to hold onto the past. Perfectly addressed in the chorus opening line "Wish I didn’t know now, what I didn’t know then”, the song expresses a longing to return to a place where blissful unawareness and imagination conquered all sadness and suffering - to when "snowflakes made the darkness, feel a million miles away”. Written by Harriet, Judie Tzuke and Steve Anderson; the latter also arranged and produced the single. ‘Maybe This Christmas’ is a perfect song of melancholy, hope and reflection for Christmas.

As the song coaxes tear-drops, the video tempts a warm Christmas glow as Harriet delves into her own personal family photo archives and pieces together video memories from her childhood.  The innocence of Harriet’s eyes as a toddler at Christmas, sparkle amongst the festive lights and wrapping paper; later to reveal the delight of her family Christmases as an older child and teen.  All gift-wrapped around the gorgeously infectious and enthralling vocals of the Harriet that we know today.

Harriet released her debut album, ‘Harriet’ in the autumn of this year and her debut single, ‘Broken For You’ notched up an impressive 2K radio airplays in the first two months of release.  Harriet has received huge support from Radio 2 with all her releases to date, including numerous plays from Paul O’Grady, Graham Norton, Tony Blackburn, Steve Wright and Ken Bruce. The legendary US presenter Larry Flick (Sirius XM, Billboard Editor) frequently champions Harriet’s music on his radio show. When interviewing her about her debut album in October 2016 he declared, “This is an artist that can and WILL change the world.”

With a string of headline UK tour dates lined up for early 2017, her debut album in hot demand and her fanbase constantly growing, Harriet is most definitely changing musical perceptions to a place where lush lyrics and rich luxurious vocals are king.  Harriet is an artist who traverses trend and time and this Christmas she brings you the most heart-felt musical gift that you’ll find under your tree.  Merry Christmas.

The album ‘Harriet’ is available now from all digital stores and HMV.
