DATE & TIME: 9pm GMT Monday 16 April

McGoozer comments: “It’s such an honour to be chosen as the voice and anthem for World Voice Day. My voice is an essential part of my everyday life and has changed my life for the better, many times over. To celebrate the day, I’m going back to where it all began for me. I’ll be hosting a live global webcast from my hometown of Glasgow. The City where I discovered my voice and the place that continues to show me so much support throughout the years. I’ll be encouraging people to get involved and spread the word…..literally, so we can all have our voices heard.”

Soaring hot off the back of his spectacularly received Tony Hadley European Tour support dates earlier this year, UK singer/songwriter, McGoozer, bows to high public demand with the release of his new single, ‘Stand Up’ on 20 April; a track which consistently wows audiences on the live circuit and has been selected as the anthem for World Voice Day 2018. With headline US and European tours planned for 2018, plus a deluxe album for the Autumn, this incredible talent from Scotland is stamping an indelible mark on the global stage, showing the industry that this Scottish boy really means business.

Stand Up’ is the fourth single to be taken from McGoozer’s debut album ‘Songs From The Mirror’, which is out now.  Showcasing McGoozer’s unique vocal range and ability, ‘Stand Up’ is a delicious fusion of strings, piano and guitar which whip and tease their way around McGoo’s voice with precision and perfection.  Depicting courage and strength, the song calls on us to stand up and be counted, to have a voice that speaks its mind amongst the everyday chaos of life and love.  An original penning by McGoozer, ‘Stand Up’ is one of those songs that literally explodes into musical joy, leaving it’s listener exhilarated as it takes them on a melodic vocal joy ride.  A track perfect for radio and for every voice to sing out loud.

Stand Up, raise your voices and be heard on World Voice Day!

Notes to Editors
*McGoozer
The voice of Glaswegian-born McGoozer is one you’ll have heard a million times before – whether it’s happily bouncing from the McDonald’s ‘I’m Lovin’ It’ TV and radio ads, on the stage with The Blues Brothers or supporting the likes of Tony Hadley during his 2018 European tour, Phil Collins or Mike & the Mechanics around the world. This highly acclaimed singer/songwriter launched his debut album ‘Songs From The Mirror’ in late 2017 and formed a brand alignment with Yamaha Music London in 2017 when he hosted Yamaha’s first ever live music webcast from the Yamaha Music London store in Soho.

No stranger to fame, Paul McGee (McGoozer) is the hat-trick in a highly successful musical family. His older brother Brian McGee was a founding member of Simple Minds, whilst his other brother Owen Paul had the huge Top 3 1980s UK chart smash ‘My Favourite Waste of Time’. Growing up as the baby of a family of x5, two of them being highly successful musicians, meant that McGoozer inherited all of the good stuff that comes from being in a big family. Musical talent, lyrical skill and a mammoth vocal ability being top of the list.
