OSIBISA RELEASE NEW SINGLE TELLING US TO GO WITH THE FLOWThey've brought musical joy to audiences for over 50 years, now as we step out of lockdown, Osibisa fulfil their 'duty of joy' with a new song of happinessOFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY The PR Stable Founding godfathers of afro-rock, Osibisa, have injected happiness into our lives for over half a century, with their ecstacy-inducing afro vibes. Now, just as we need them most, Osibisa step up to their ‘duty-of-joy’, as they encourage us to flow out of lockdown with a smile, with the release their new single, ‘Adjuwa Aye (Go with the flow)’ on 11 June - the second track taken from their new album, ‘New Dawn’ (out now). The album delivers the band’s first ‘new’ music in over two decades, and celebrates Osibisa’s first signing to a major label (Marquee Records) in over thirty years. Vibrant and uplifting, ‘Adjuwa Aye (Go With The Flow)’, fuses bold riffs and pulsating drums around gritty vocals, enhanced by the voices of the band’s first ever female singers, percussionist Angie Amra Anderson and MOBO award nominee, Faye Jones. At a time where uncertainty rules, Osibisa call on us all to go with life’s flow and celebrate our own little bubbles of kindness and love. ‘ ‘Adjuwa Aye (Go With The Flow)’ encapsulates the original Afro-rock style of Osibisa. It's a word from Ghana which means born on a Monday for a female. It represents the 1st day of a new week to come... a chance to take on life’s challenges with renewed energy and positivity, a time to go with the flow and ride with highlife and share good emotional vibes with everyone. We wrote this song to encourage a happy state of mind," smiles Gregg Kofi Brown - bass guitarist, lead vocals and lead lyricist for Osibisa. ‘Adjuwa Aye (Go With The Flow)’ is the second track to be lifted from the new album of totally fresh original material, ‘New Dawn’. Reformed, revamped and reinvigorated, Osibisa of 202I, takes flight from their pioneering Afro-rock ties of old. With a collection of x14 original new songs, ‘New Dawn’ is undoubtedly the strongest, most vibrant Osibisa sound to date, as it delivers a richer, more eclectic diversity of music than we’ve ever heard before from these icons. Written predominantly by Robert Bailey and Gregg Kofi Brown, ‘New Dawn’, is Osibisa's first album to be distributed by a major label (Universal) in over 30 years. Tour dates:
