On Saturday 1 October, London’s East End will turn in to a giant music stage, as venues across Shoreditch throw open their doors to public and red-hot music talent, for the Capital’s first post-pandemic music-crawl. As Covid froze live music stages, the bottle-neck facing burgeoning newcomers grew intense, with many clambering to find a spare stage to perform to fresh audiences. In response to mammoth public and industry demand for that backlog on new talent to be freed, East London unleashes the Made Me Like It Festival. Held on 1 October, the one-day bumper event will give the nation’s hottest emerging artists, and their fans, live performance stages across five grass roots venues.

“Our new generation of music talent has been stifled since the pandemic hit, so for the sake of the music loving public and performers, we had to take matters into our own hands. We’re throwing open our doors to let music come alive again,” comments Hunter Jenkins of The Old Blue Last (one of the festivals participating venues). “One tickets gains entry to all venues, so that the public can music-crawl freely from one venue to another. This is literally a music orgy of the UK’s best burgeoning talent.”

Performer, L Devine adds, “It’s rare for London to host an event like this, but this is exactly what artists need – a stage in London for the public to simply drop in and enjoy the best music talent that the UK has to offer, in small intimate venues. I can’t wait to perform on a stage where I can see the faces of the audience. If you love music, come down, this day is gonna be awesome.”

One of the top LGBT Youtube influencers (nearly 1 Million subscribers) , Noahfinnce, is an artist who was signed during Covid and welcomes the new London festival with open arms, “I signed my label deal during the pandemic, but finding live festival opportunities has been really difficult for artists like me. We need to wait in line for the back log to clear on the shows frozen during the lockdown months,“ explains Noah, “As our Capital city, it’s great to know that London is opening up the bottle-neck for new artists to perform live. It’s gonna be an incredible day, I can’t wait.”

Confirmed acts include Tim Gallagher, Noahfinnce, Swim School, Tungz, Cathy Jain, Sfven, Beetlebug, Artemas, Jesse Jo Stark, Jack Goldstein, Clarence & The Modern Life, Phoebe Hall, Trunky Juno, Jasmine Jethwa who will be joining L Devine, Do Nothing, Coach Party, Walt Disco, NOISY, Greta Isaac, Alfie Neale, Low Hummer, Silvertwin, Charlotte Plank, Tarragon and July Jones.

Made Me Like It venues include Village Underground, XOYO, Courtyard Theatre, Colours and The Old Blue Last, and there will be stage takeovers from the hugely popular Gold Dust, East of Eden and BBC Radio One’s Gemma Bradley (Whiplash).

Tickets for the City’s biggest new music event are priced at £23.50 (+ fees) and gives entrance to all five Made Me Like It venues on October 1.
