Introducing Marquee Records’ first new signing of 2023 – the honest, no-fuss indie 5-piece from Coventry who go by the name of CANDID. Following 3/4 of a million Spotify streams, syncs on NFL and Made in Chelsea, supports slots for The Snuts, The Fratellis and Tom Clarke, and live stage performances at Isle of Wight Festival and BBC Radio 1s Big Weekend – it’s no surprise that CANDID have been swiftly snapped by Marquee Records; with a string of releases planned for 2023.

Raw, gritty and energy-laden, ‘Tonight’ depicts the typical night out, traversing the listener through that party-mode from a singular perspective. Dynamic drums and bold riffs play host to a sound-bed of distinct unique vocals from front man, Rob Latimer, who delivers the originally penned lyrics like a dynamo. These boys mean business and this debut release on Marquee Records is sure to make an indelible industry imprint for CANDID.

Waving the flag across the nation for Coventry, CANDID aim to do their city proud. Led by frontman Rob Latimer (Singer Songwriter), brother Dan Latimer (Lead Guitar), Sam Baines (Bassist), Alex Bonsor (Drums) and Max Fisher (Keyboards), the boys bring a fresh burst of energy to their vibrant indie sound. With frequent sonic comparison to bands such as Stereophonics, The Academic and The Amazons, the five-piece continue to make a striking impression live, selling out headline shows locally with over 1000 capacity; along with festival slots including Isle of Wight Festival and Radio 1s Big Weekend. Upfront, honest and ready to take on the world – welcome CANDID!

About

Comprising of brothers (vocalist/guitarist) Rob Latimer and lead guitarist Dan Latimer, bassist Sam Baines, drums Alex Bonsor and keyboards Max Fisher, CANDID are an indie rock/pop outfit that originate from Coventry.

Recently signed to Marquee Records, (part of the World famous London music venue) in February 2023, with worldwide song distribution by Right Track/Universal Music Operations the five piece continue to make a striking impression in both their recording evolution and impeccable live performances.

With frequent sonic comparisons to bands such as Stereophonics, The Academic and The Amazons and sporting an ever growing fanbase, front man Rob Latimer delivers a fireball of energy, passion and emotion that comes translated in a myriad of different melodies and riffs that are intended to hit you hard. Their music targets your heartstrings, fuelled with emotion and messages that reverberate beneath an equally as thoughtful soundscape. Following the success of ‘Wasted Time’ which garnered over 250,000 streams and bolstered by the musical prowess of childhood friends and family in Dan, Sam, Alex and Max the band has amassed an impressive stream of support slots such as The Snuts, Tom Clarke (The Enemy) and The Fratellis, plus receiving great reception and acclaim with performances at The Isle of Wight Festival, BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend and YNOT? Festival.

The entire band are fiercely proud of their Coventry roots but brothers Rob and Dan also boast ‘Scouse’ DNA, having family roots there. Hence the reason for spending so much time in Liverpool and recording at Coastal Sound Recording Studios in the City with producer Richard Turvey (Blossoms, Vistas).

Recharged and armed with the music to match CANDID have ambitions to export their sound across the UK and beyond in 2023/24.
