Sarah Harding channels "rock chick" persona for solo shows

Sarah Harding has revealed that her solo career is more "rock chick" than Girls Aloud.

The singer was part of the pop group from day one, but it seems she is set to unleash her true inner self as she goes solo.

Harding is due to perform at London's Kensington Palace on Thursday (March 20) and Islington Academy on Wednesday (March 26) and she told the Daily Mail that she will go rock.

She said: "I'm much more of a rock chick on stage with a bit of a pop edge to it. I'm looking forward to people seeing the real me in my solo career. When you're in a band you kind of overcompensate. I'm an exhibitionist. I'm hyper as a person. I exhaust myself so much that I'm like a dead dog when I get back home.

"This new image will be like Sarah Harding mark three. I'm evolving, like Madonna has to evolve. It's important in this industry to be fresh and new and current. You have to keep evolving. I get bored really easily, I don't know how many different hairstyles I've had."

Speaking meanwhile about her preparations for her shows, Harding added:

"I have been working out a lot but I make sure I sing at the same time. I go on the cross trainer for 30 minutes a day and belt out all my songs. My neighbours must think I'm bonkers. I know Beyoncé's dad used to make her run down the beach singing her songs with her heels on, so if it can work for her..."
