The Saturdays will be turning on the Christmas lights on Oxford Street

The Saturdays will be turning on the Christmas lights on Oxford Street this year.

The 'Notorious' singers will be kicking off the festive season this Tuesday (November 1) outside of Marks and Spencers at Marble Arch where they will also perform their new song, 'My Heart Takes Over'.

Over the years, acts like Spice Girls, Leona Lewis, Westlife and Sugababes have switched on the lights and as Jace Tyrell of New West End Company (they represent retailers on Oxford St., Bond St., and Regent St.), it's an iconic event:

"London's iconic Oxford Street lights will capture the imagination of the tens of millions of visitors over the Christmas period to the West End, including international shoppers coming from as far as China, Russia, Japan, Brazil and Thailand for a quintessentially British Christmas...With retailers all lit up for the festive season, the West End will attract visitors looking to start their Christmas shopping".

The seasonal fun kicks of at 5pm on November 1.
