The Saturdays' Una Healy claims motherhood has inspired creativity

The Saturdays’ Una Healy has revealed that becoming a new mother has inspired her to write more of her own material.

The Irish singer, currently on maternity leave after giving birth to daughter Aoife last month, said that the new addition to her and fiancé Ben Foden’s family is not only already a fan of her music but has also encouraged her to be more creative:

“She has a toy called Ewan the dream sheep, which makes sounds that mimic the noise of my heart when she was in the womb, and she loves that.

"And she seems to like it when I sing to her. I'm writing her a song called 'Aoife Belle'. Having her has really inspired me to get back into writing music and playing guitar."

The 30-year-old, whose band releases new single, '30 Days,' on May 13, also explained the couple’s decision to choose such a traditional Irish name for their daughter:

"I suspect people [at home in Ireland] are thinking, 'Why didn't she go for something more exotic?' because there are a lot of Aoifes in Ireland. But our baby is likely to grow up in England, where it is unusual."
