The Saturdays' 'What About Us' lands a midweek No.1

UK based girl group The Saturdays are on course for their very first No.1 single with 'What About Us'.

The track debuted at the top spot this afternoon (March 20) during the midweek update and according to the Official Charts Company are currently outselling their closest competition by more than two copies to one at this halfway stage.

The Saturdays recently revealed that scoring a UK No.1 is a career ambition of theirs so it looks as though the dream is firmly within their reach. Tweeting about the chart success, they said: "Team Sats UK! #WhatAboutUs is NUMBER ONE on the @BBCR1 OFFICIAL CHART UPDATE! THANK YOU!"

Justin Timberlake's new single 'Mirrors' has dropped one place to No.2, One Direction's Comic Relief charity single is down 4 to No.6, and Taylor Swift's new offering, '22', has jumped up an impressive 14 positions to No.12.

30 Seconds To Mars have a new entry at 35 with 'Up In The Air', which recently debuted in space via the international space station, and Paramore's 'Still Into You' has made an appearance at 37.
