The Saturdays' Frankie Sandford talks having depression

The Saturdays star Frankie Sandford has revealed that her bandmates were very accepting when she told them that she suffers from depression.

As previously reported, the singer has joined forces with charity Mind for their It's Time to Talk campaign.

As a sufferer of depression and anxiety, Sandford hopes that more people can talk openly about their problems and as a result, reduce the stigma around mental health.

Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, the singer revealed that her bandmates were very comforting when she revealed her issues to them - the way it should be. Sandford said:

"[They were] really unfazed.  thought it was going to be this big thing. I'd built it up so much and they were all just like, 'OK cool,' and they were just there for me if I did have a panic attack or if I was feeling down that day. The same as you'd hope your friends would be if you were having a bad day."
