Shakira is set to give birth to a boy, her parents have confirmed.

The singer revealed in August that she is expecting her second child with partner Gerard Pique.

The singer first became a mother in 2013 when baby Milan was brought into the world.

Speaking to Hola! magazine, Shakira's parents Nidia Ripoll and William Mebarak Chadid confirmed that the singer is due to give birth a boy.

They said: "We're very happy. She's having another baby boy - a playmate for Milan."

The pleased parents added: "We don't know anything about names yet."
