Shakira wins prestigious Harvard awardPop star Shakira has been named as the Harvard Foundation's Artist of the Year. The 'Hips Don't Lie' singer will receive the Ivy League University's award for her contributions to both music and charity, and the foundation's director, S. Allen Counter, said: "The students and faculty of the Harvard Foundation are honoured to present multi-platinum artist Shakira with the 2011 Artist of the Year award." She will receive her medal on February 26 during the Cultural Rhythms festival in Sanders Theatre and you can watch Shakira talk about the work of her charity here:
