Shakira has revealed that she will be giving birth to a boy.

The sultry singer announced last month that she was pregnant with Barcelona footballer boyfriend Gerard Piqué.

She said at the time: "As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby."

The 'Hips Don't Lie' star has now told German TV's RTL that she will be having a boy. Shakira said:

"It's gonna be a boy. This guy [Piqué] is the best thing that ever happened to me in my whole life. And now we are having a baby."

Shakira added that she is looking to take the child with her when she travels the world on charity ventures. The singer said:

"When the baby is born, I'll take him with me on charity trips. He shall learn that he is able to change the world."
