'Stitches' sensation Shawn Mendes has been added to the line-up for this year's Billboard Music Awards. 

The Canadian heartthrob will perform live at the star-studded ceremony, which is due to take place on May 22 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Other confirmed performers include P!nk, who will give a rendition of her new song 'Just Like Fire', which features on the soundtrack to the new Disney film 'Alice Through the Looking Glass', and the Joe Jonas-fronted band DNCE. Ciara and Ludacris will host the event. 

Mendes, meanwhile, recently opened up about the new music he has been working on and told BBC Radio 1 that his next record will be a "game changer": "It's going to be soon - definitely soon. We're just finishing it off, honestly. It's very nearly done. I'm very excited... it's a game-changing album. Honestly, I've never felt so proud of something in my life. It's totally, for me, the experience making it in the studio this time around was life-changing."
