The British Phonographic Industry has confirmed that Canadian sensation Shawn Mendes can now celebrate a new sales milestone in the UK with his latest single 'Treat You Better'. 

The track has now been certified Silver by the BPI, which means that it has sold over 200,000 copies since its release. The BPI tweeted about the exciting news, writing: "'Treat You Better' by the fabulous @ShawnMendes has just gone Silver! Huge congratulations. #bpiAwards."

Mendes, meanwhile, is gearing up to release his new album 'Illuminate' on September 23 and he recently teased that all the music videos from the record will be linked in a special way: 

“I’m excited to film the rest of the album’s music videos actually now, after this. It’s going to be cool ‘cause we’re being very specific about details in the music videos and if people pay really good attention, they’ll see a bunch of connections, which is exciting."
