Snoop Dogg sends support to One Direction after 'joint' video

Snoop Dogg has sent his encouragement to One Direction after two of their members were caught in a drugs row.

The band's Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson apparently feature in a leaked video taken in a van in Peru last month that see the duo pass around a marijuana joint.

The clip has brought the band's clean reputation into disrepute and it has stoked debate on their status as role models.

However, the group have one fan in the shape of US rapper Snoop Dogg, who is one of music's most notable proponents of weed.

He took to Twitter to send words of support to One Direction after the leak, saying:

"Yo @onedirection keep ya heads up."
