Snow Patrol's album 'Fallen Empires' knocks Susan Boyle off the top spot

Snow Patrol's new album, 'Fallen Empires', has entered in the midweek chart update at No.1. 

According to the Official Charts Company, this new offering could land the boys their first No.1 record since their 2006 release, 'Eyes Open'. 

Boyband JLS are also in competition for this week's top spot as 'Jukebox' has shot straight in at No.2 and Drake's exciting new album 'Take Care' is close behind at No.4. 

Songstress Pixie Lott has made an appearance at No.14 with 'Young Foolish Happy', Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' has re-entered the UK Top 40 at No.16 and Christina Perri's 'Lovestrong' has climbed an impressive 20 places to sit comfortably at No.20.
