Snow Patrol auction signed guitar for ill fan

Snow Patrol's frontman has put one of his own guitars up for auction to raise money for a fan who is currently battling a serious disease.

Gary Lightbody met 11-year-old Vanessa Riddle backstage after the band's concert in Glasgow on Friday, January 27, and was so moved to hear that she is fighting cancer that he decided to help raise funds for the operation she needs.

Speaking about Riddle, the 'Chasing Cars' singer explained:

"It's a big sum of money Vanessa has to try and raise (£20,000) and we're trying to help as much as possible. I hope on the right night at the right auction that people will spend a lot on the guitar."
