HURTS TO RELEASE 4TH STUDIO ALBUM DESIRE THROUGH COLUMBIA RECORDS ON SEPTEMBER 29BIGGEST HEADLINE TOUR TO DATE ALSO JUST ANNOUNCED“Hurts are back! Doing what they do better than, well, anyone else actually: that is making a song that is as euphoric as it is melancholy” – i-D “Beautiful Ones takes the full-blown pomp of their trademark Euro-synth-pop sound and gives it more of a shameless and infectious dancefloor sheen, loaded with classic rock, guitar solo crescendos” - NME “It’s been two years since Hurts released their last album, the excellent Surrender, in 2015. So it’s about time they made a comeback with a song every bit as large and anthemic as their past work” - Paper “A powerful new power-pop single that looks to explore themes of hate, love, brutality, and beauty” – The Line of Best Fit “One of the most devastatingly powerful videos of the year” – Attitude “Beautiful Ones is a shrine and celebration of queer identity, pulling not only at the heart-strings, but calling together a collective of likeminded individuals who get up despite society perpetually knocking them down for simply being who they are” - HISKIND (Columbia Records, London, UK – May 26, 2017) – Hurts have today announced the release of their fourth studio album DESIRE, out on September 29 on Columbia Records. Pre-order HERE. It’s been seven years since the release of the band’s international breakthrough single Wonderful Life and their debut album Happiness. Since then the British duo have established themselves as one of the most popular and successful pop acts throughout Europe, scoring top ten albums and numerous hit singles in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Sweden, Ireland, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Finland, the Netherlands and the UK. Hurts have also sold 100,000 gig tickets in 2016 alone, making them one of the most successful new British bands of the past decade. Following the triumphant career start in 2010, Theo Hutchcraft and Adam Anderson released two further albums - Exile (2013) and Surrender (2015) - which spawned many international hit singles (including Stay and Some Kind of Heaven) and airplay hits, while their concerts are hailed as the most innovative live events in recent years. Hurts said,"It gives us great pleasure to announce DESIRE. An album full of passion, pain and lust. And, some of the best music we've ever made". News of the band’s new album follows the release of their brand new single Beautiful Ones which achieved instant critical acclaim from the likes of NME, i-D, Paper, Attitude, Metro and The Line of Best Fit, to name but a few. The track, which the band describe as a “celebration of individuality”, arrives alongside a startling new video, written by and starring the bands singer Theo Hutchraft, which has already surpassed 1.5 million views. An unmistakable stand-alone feature in the Hurts success story - completing the great songwriting and their inimitable sound - are the breathtaking visuals. The accompanying video to Beautiful Ones is one of provocative poignancy. Themes of hate, love, brutality and beauty are explored throughout the piece which is rooted in both intrigue and empathy.
