Sophie Ellis-Bextor feels "sheepish" when she turns up at the school gates in full photoshoot hair and make-up.

The stunning songstress has three sons - Sonny, eight, Kit, three and Ray, seven months - with The Feeling's Richard Jones.

Ellis-Bextor is famed for her ultra-glamorous appearance, but insists she tones things down when she's going about her day-to-day routine.

She explained to Closer magazine: "I never dress up for the school run. I love fashion and adore dressing up for an evening event, but I'm not fussed about what I wear when I drop off the kids. If I have to pick up the kids after I've been on a photo shoot or something, I feel so sheepish turning up in full hair and make-up!"

Ellis-Bextor makes sure she keeps fit for her energetic stage routines.

She added: "I haven't exercised much since Ray was born, it's hard to find a window, but I do want to step it up. It's good to be fit for gigs. so I have the stamina to keep going on stage. I love boxing classes and running outdoors, but the treadmill at the gym is so boring."
