Sugababes singer Jade Ewen is one of the names set to appear on Tom Daley's new TV show.

The Olympian is starring in his own series Splash!, which will see a number of celebrities tasked with learning how to dive.

Ewen is the only music related contestant to take part in the show, joined by the likes of Joey Essex and Caprice.

Other names due to appear include Hollyoaks' Jennifer Metcalfe, Tina Malone from Shameless and comedians Dom Joly and Omid Djalili.

Daley hinted that viewers will be seeing a lot of celebrities suffer a lot of "smacks and wallops" as they attempt the water sport. The diver said:

"Once you're up there, there is no turning back. If you freak out, you freak out on live TV. You'll see lots of smacks and wallops. People think diving's easy because divers who've done it for a long time make it look like that – but it is very far from easy. It is a very psychological sport. Half the battle is getting over the fear factor."

The show, which starts on Saturday (January 5) on ITV, will be hosted by Vernon Kay and Gabby Logan.
