Susan Boyle to receive honorary doctorate for musical achievements

Songstress Susan Boyle has been confirmed to receive a music doctorate from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) later this month.

The 'I Dreamed A Dream' star is set to be awarded the prize during the RCS graduation ceremony in Glasgow, Scotland on June 30 and fellow celebrities Annie Lennox and Tilda Swinton have previously received similar accolades from the institute.

Speaking about the honour in an official statement, Boyle explained that she's very proud: "I am truly honoured to be receiving this doctorate. It is brilliant and I thank the RCS for even considering me, let alone actually awarding me with this great privilege."
