Susan Boyle sent a tribute to the funeral of former X Factor finalist Kerry McGregor, who passed away last week after losing her battle with cancer.

As previously reported, McGregor, who appeared in the 2006 series of the X Factor, sadly died at the age of 37 after suffering from bladder cancer.

Her funeral was held in Mid Calder, Scotland yesterday (January 10) with over 400 people attending. The BBC reports that Susan Boyle - who was lined up to record a track with McGregor before her death - left a note at the funeral, which said:

"Kerry and her beautiful voice now have 'wings to fly'. Love Susan Boyle."

Former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne also left a message of tribute, saying: "Kerry, rest in peace, with love, Sharon Osbourne."

Susan Boyle's performance of 'Wings To Fly' - the track the pair were due to record together - was played at the funeral.
