Susan Boyle lauds SuBo musical

Susan Boyle has praised the musical 'I Dreamed a Dream', which charts her rise to fame.

The show features fellow Scot Elaine C Smith in the role of Boyle and will start to tour the UK later this month.

Speaking on BBC Breakfast, Boyle praised the musical for its inspirational nature and hopes that it may spur people on to reach their own dreams. She said:

"The story had an appeal, a magical story, a fairy story. It was a dream come true. It can sort of be an example for other people, to inspire them to go on and see for themselves and to do something similar."

She added: "It has everything. It has drama, razzmatazz. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry. People will be excited and intrigued, a lot of it will be based on curiosity. I hope they like what they see."

Smith meanwhile, who is perhaps best known for her part in Scottish comedy Rab C Nesbitt, admitted she felt "really nervous" when she met Boyle - because she didn't want to the Britain's Got Talent star to dislike the show.
