Vocal superstar Susan Boyle has announced that she will star in a brand new holiday movie alongside the likes of Hans Matheson and 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' actor, Sylvester McCoy.

The movie, entitled 'The Christmas Candle', is set in 1890 and is about festive wishes and Boyle released a statement on her participation in the project, which read:

"Everyone on set is a delight to work with and it's a fantastic experience to be part of the team."

She continued: "I'm really enjoying getting dressed in the period costumes and stepping back in time."

Samantha Barks (pictured above left next to Boyle), who starred in 'Les Misérables' and performed with the cast at last weekend's Oscars, also spoke about the film, adding: "Having just landed from the Academy Awards I had an hour to unpack and repack and get to set. I'm very excited to be part of 'The Christmas Candle' and I'm loving every second.
