Take That on Jason Orange departure: 'We left a big space for him on the record'

Take That have revealed that they left the door open for Jason Orange to reconsider his future in the band for months.

The singer confirmed in September that he was stepping down the from the group, saying:

"There have been no fallings out, only a decision on my part that I no longer wish to do this.

"I know how much Mark, Gary and Howard enjoy writing and making music, and they know that they have my full support and encouragement to continue on with what is to be another chapter for the band."

The three remaining members of Take That - Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald - are releasing their new record 'III' on December 1.

They have now told the Mirror that they left the door open for Orange for months. Barlow said:

"We’ve known for a while that Jay was like, ‘I don’t know if I’m doing this or not'. At the end of last year we said, ‘We’re going to start, is that OK?’ You can see how you feel during the year.

"We left a big space for him on the record."
