Take That gag named best new Christmas cracker joke

Take That quip has been named the best new Christmas cracker joke.

UK TV channel Gold recently asked the public to submit their own festive gags for a competition.

The winning entry poked fun at the recent departure of Jason Orange from Take That.

Lynne Newton's effort said: "What will be missing from Take That’s Christmas stocking this year? An Orange."

The jester was treated to a £1,500 holiday for her efforts.

A U2 themed joke meanwhile was placed at No.6 on Gold's list:

"What’s the difference between Bono and Santa? Santa gives you things you want."
