Taylor Swift and Lorde took some time out of the showbiz limelight by going on a cooking course.

The two friends hit up Ella's Fine Food and Drink in Rhode Island to learn some new tricks in the kitchen.

The pair both uploaded photos to Instagram of their day out as they got to grips with some new dishes.

Taylor Swift wrote: "Thank you to Chef Jeanie at Ella's Fine Food and Drink for giving us the best and only cooking lesson we've ever had!"

Lorde added: "Took a wonderful cooking class in rhode island alongside the already-super-good-cook, ms. @taylorswift."

One of the dishes the duo seemingly made was tacos.

Swift meanwhile cooked up a storm a day after appearing at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday (August 10).
