Taylor Swift has been officially confirmed to appear on the US Voice as a guest mentor.

Speculation surrounding the news emanated earlier this summer, but today (October 3) it was confirmed by network NBC.

The US star will feature on the TV talent show from October 27 - the same day her new album '1989' is released.

Swift is scheduled to appear on the program until November 3, with the singer advising contestants on technique and song choice.

It is unclear if the 'Red' star will feature on The Voice beyond that date.

The current judging panel on the US show includes Pharrell Williams, Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton.
