Taylor Swift has spoken of her wish to branch out into writing.

The singer is a prolific songwriter, but she told the Associated Press that she wants try other art forms such as poetry.

Speaking about writing a 400-page book as teenager about her life and friends, Swift said:

"Since then, I've discovered music and that's the form of writing that inspires me the most. It's not to say that I wouldn't expand the mediums and the ways that I choose to write.

"What if I end up writing a script or a book, or a book of poetry or something? That would be so amazing. I would love to see that happen."

Swift meanwhile released her new album '1989' this week and it is expected to reach No.1 in countries across the globe.
