Taylor Swift is named the biggest global recording artist of 2014

'Out Of The Woods' superstar Taylor Swift has been confirmed as the biggest recording artist in the world in 2014 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).

One Direction topped the list for 2013 and they are now just behind Swift at No.2. Ed Sheeran came in at No.3, Coldplay are at No.4, AC/DC finished at No.5, Michael Jackson is at No.6, and Pink Floyd are at No.7. Sam Smith, Katy Perry and Beyoncé round out the list at No.8, No.9 and No.10 respectively.

Swift, meanwhile, recently spoke to Vogue magazine about love and confessed that her dating life has been scrutinised by the press to the point where she's now looking at falling for someone new as a potential threat to her career and reputation:

"I was really irritated by the whole serial-dater play that people tried to make about me. I just decided I wasn't willing to provide them that kind of entertainment anymore. I wasn't going to go out on dates and have them be allowed to take pictures and say whatever they wanted about our body language. I wasn't going to sit next to somebody and flirt with them for five minutes, because I know the next day he'll be rumoured to be my boyfriend."
