Taylor Swift's '1989' outsells her previous two albums

Superstar Taylor Swift is enjoying incredible global success with her latest album '1989' and it has now been confirmed that the offering has outsold her last two records.

After just 19 weeks of release, '1989' now has total sales of 4.505 million. It already surpassed the sales of her last album, 2012's 'Red' (which sold 4.160 million copies after 124 weeks), several weeks back, and it has also now jumped past her 2010 release, 'Speak Now' (which shifted 4.480 million units after 228 weeks), in the latest tracking week.

Billboard also reports that after just 19 weeks, '1989' has surpassed the sales of what was her third-biggest seller, which has been on sale for 228 weeks. Her biggest seller so far is her 2008 offering, 'Fearless', which sold an impressive 6.909 million units.

Back in February, Taylor Swift was named the biggest global recording artist of 2014 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). One Direction finished in second place.
