Music stars support Taylor Swift Apple Music stance

A number of high-profile musicians have spoken out in support of Taylor Swift after she stood up to Apple Music's royalty scheme.

The forthcoming streaming service backtracked on their decision not to pay royalties on music listened to during users' three-month free trial.

The U-turn came after Swift penned an open letter about their payment scheme, stating that her record '1989' would not feature on the service.

Speaking on Twitter, singer Christina Perri praised Swift's gumption, writing:

"This is so amazing. Thank you for writing this."

Veteran Elvis Costello added: "@TaylorSwift13 A word from our future President. Right on. You tell ‘em, girl."

Kodaline meanwhile said: "Go on ya good thing @taylorswift13."

Apple Music is scheduled to launch on June 30.
