Taylor Swift takes aim at Kanye West in rousing Grammys speech

Taylor Swift appears to have taken a swipe at Kanye West during one of her Grammy Awards acceptance speeches.

The singer bagged three prizes at Monday's (February 15) ceremony, including Album of the Year for '1989'.

It was the first time in history a female has won the award on two occassions, with Swift bagging it back in 2010 for 'Fearless'.

The US star is the subject of lyrics on the new Kanye West track 'Famous', which read: "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / I made that bitch famous."

The words alluded to their fall-out at the 2009 MTV VMAs went West rushed Swift's stage to claim she shouldn't have won an award.

Speaking at the Grammys while accepting her Album of the Year gong, Swift said:

"I wanna thank the fans for the last 10 years and the recording academy for this incredible honour and my collaborators you see on this stage.

"As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there there are going to be people along the way who are going to try and undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or you fame."

"But if you just focus on the work and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you're going you'll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you that put you there.

"And that will be the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you for this moment."
