Taylor Swift Sits Atop Billboard 200 for Second Week

Taylor Swift’s Evermore album is No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for a second week.

The set earned 169,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Dec. 24 (down 49%), according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. The album opened at No. 1 a week ago with 329,000 units. She is the only artist with two albums in the top 10 on this week’s Billboard 200.

The superstar rounded off 2020 by making history with evermore at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and her single “willow” No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, cementing her as the only artist in history to simultaneously debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100 twice. Swift is the only artist ever to accomplish this historic milestone in one year.

She accomplished the feat four months after the arrival of folklore and “cardigan” at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Hot 100, respectively, which initially made her “the only artist in history to simultaneously debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100.” Not to mention, “willow” is her seventh No. 1 on the Hot 100 and third No. 1 debut on the chart.

Swift is “the first woman to log two albums in the Top 3 of the Billboard 200 since 1963 and is the first female artist in history to spend a total of 50 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
