Taylor Swift and Zac Efron deny romance with duet on Ellen

Taylor Swift and Zac Efron performed a duet on The Ellen Degeneres Show yesterday to quash rumours they were dating.

The 22-year old Grammy winner and 24-year-old High School Musical star, who were on the chat show together to promote the upcoming animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, have been the subject of tabloid gossip ever since they were seen sharing a meal together in Los Angeles last month.

However, the pair denied any romantic involvement by picking up a guitar each and giving a unique rendition of Foster The People’s hit, ‘Pumped Up Kicks,’ changing the lyrics to “and it gets kinda weird/calling us out like we’re boyfriend and girlfriend/but we’re not cos we’re just sitting here.”

The ‘Love Story’ star had earlier laughed off the reports when probed by the US comedian:

"We are not a couple. He's awesome, we are not a couple though. You hear people get together when they're shooting movies, co-stars.

"But not like animated co-stars. You know what I’m saying. Oh my god, as we were recording out voiceovers on separate coasts we really connected."
