Taylor Swift admits she has hidden "little codes" in new album's lyrics

Now that country-pop sweetheart Taylor Swift has debuted her lead single from newly announced album 'Red' she has opened up about the record's content.

Speaking to USA Today about the exciting forthcoming release, the 'Mine' superstar explained that she has hidden "little codes" in the lyrics of the songs because she wants 'Red' to be more "clever and cryptic" than her last offering:

"It's pretty difficult to come up with, because I know you guys are going to figure them out. With the last album, I thought I was much more clever and cryptic than I really was. [But I'm trying to] hide little codes in lyrics."

She added that the tracks that feature on this new record are about relationships going wrong and focus more on the darker side of love:

"I tend to kind of skew in the direction of writing songs about love. That's kind of where I naturally go. [These songs are about] really dysfunctional and not good generally relationships."

"When I'm writing an album, my world becomes a big storyboard. Everyone around me has the potential to be a character." Watch Swift unveil her brand new single 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' below:
