Country-pop superstar Taylor Swift has revealed that one of her idols is journalist Katie Couric, who gave her a particularly useful piece of advice once about being a strong woman.

During her new interview with Vanity Fair, the 'State of Grace' songstress explained that feminine empowerment is something she values so when she writes songs about breakups and is perceived in a negative way because of that, it's very sexist:

"I think that's taking something that potentially should be celebrated - a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way - that's taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist."

Referring to Couric, Swift added that they're both on the same page and think women should stand up for other women: "You know, Katie Couric is one of my favorite people because she said to me...
