Taylor Swift: "Nerves fuel my creativity"

Chart-topping songstress Taylor Swift starts penning lyrics when she gets anxious.

The 'I Knew You Were Trouble' singer is famed for her catchy songs, but says she can only write tracks when she feels  a bout of nerves coming on.

Swift - who released her fourth studio album 'Red' last year - admits she feels close to penning new songs.

She told USA Today at the CMT Music Awards this week: "It's starting. All the anxiety is starting. When the anxiety starts, the writing happens right after, usually."

Swift likes her new music to have a fresh sound.

She added: "Whatever I write in the first year is going to get thrown away. I'm going to like it, but it's going to sound like the last record. The second year usually sounds like the next project.

Swift continued: "I think you need to change up your influences. I think you need to be inspired by different things than you were inspired by before."

Swift is currently on her 'Red' tour, which is due to come to a close in Melbourne, Australia in December. Watch the video for Swift's 'Everything Has Changed' below:
