Country-pop superstar Taylor Swift has reached an impressive social media milestone today (July 1) after her Twitter account passed the 30 million followers mark.

Writing on her official Twitter page late last night, the 'I Knew You Were Trouble' sensation thanked her fans for the continued online support and wrote:

"In Vancouver- just realized you guys got my twitter up to 30 million followers?!?! So cool considering I only tweet about my cat and food."

At the beginning of June, fellow music star Justin Bieber peaked at 40 million followers on the popular site and several other hitmakers are doing just as well in the numbers stakes. Katy Perry currently has 38.6 million Twitter followers, Rihanna has 30.3 million and Lady Gaga has 38.8 million.
