Taylor Swift on exes: 'I've got a great song out of each break-up'

'I Knew You Were Trouble' songstress Taylor Swift has confessed that while she doesn't like to remain friends with her ex-boyfriends, she does enjoy writing about them and keeping the memory alive in that way.

During an interview with the September edition of Marie Claire, the beauty explained that she immortalises her relationships and break-ups with songs because it's a cathartic way of dealing with it:

"Every one of my regrets has produced a song I'm proud of. Love is a ruthless game unless you play it good and right."

Meanwhile, Swift is encouraging fans to vote for her to win at this year's MTV VMAs as she is nominated in the Best Female Video category and is also up for Video of the Year. She tweeted: "Anxiously counting down to VMA's... Feel like voting? Cause I certainly feel like shamelessly asking you to."

The 2013 MTV VMAs will take place on August 25 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and performances will come from Lady Gaga, Kanye West and the newly announced Katy Perry. Watch Swift discuss her sense of style here:
