Taylor Swift had to persuade label to let her release new song

Taylor Swift has revealed that she had to overcome record label resistance to release her latest song.

The singer has contributed the track 'Sweeter Than Fiction' for the soundtrack of new film One Chance but it seems it wasn't easy in the beginning.

The '22' star told the BBC that her label had wanted her to keep quiet between 2012's 'Red' and her next album - but she managed to persuade them otherwise.

Swift said: "I had to fight to do this because I try to take a break in between albums and try to give people a minute to not hear me on the radio. I had to go around and ask people, 'Can I please, please put something out?' even though we're supposed to be going quiet. My management, my label were like, 'No new music until the next album comes out'. Then I saw the movie and I was like, 'I have to be a part of this'."

One Chance meanwhile is a biopic of Britain's Got Talent opera singer Paul Potts, with James Corden playing the lead role.

It will hit cinemas on Friday (October 25), whilst 'Sweeter Than Fiction' is available now. Listen to 'Sweeter Than Fiction' below:
