The Darkness set to return to the U.S. with 2012 headlining tour

Operatic rockers The Darkness have announced a brand new U.S. tour for 2012 and will also reestablish themselves with a new studio album. 

The 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love' stars are due to release the as of yet untitled record, which will be their third, in the spring of next year and will kick off a 13 date North American tour on February 1 in Toronto, Ontario.

  • Feb. 3: Boston, MA (Paradise)
  • Feb. 4: New York, NY (Irving Plaza)
  • Feb. 7: Philadelphia, PA (Trocadero)
  • Feb: 8: Washington, D.C. (9:30 CLUB)
  • Feb. 10: Detroit, MI (St. Andrew's Hall)
  • Feb. 11: Chicago, IL (Metro)
  • Feb. 12: Minneapolis,MN (First Avenue)
  • Feb. 15: Denver, CO (Summit)
  • Feb. 17: Las Vegas, NV (House of Blues)
  • Feb. 18: Phoenix, AZ (Celebrity Theatre)
  • Feb. 19: Los Angeles, CA (House of Blues)
  • Feb. 21: San Francisco, CA (Fillmore)

Frontman Justin Hawkins spoke to the Rolling Stone about their upcoming U.S. tour and explained that the band can't wait to perform their new material to American audiences:

"It’s really kind of exciting, we’re seeing things that we never used to see, like mosh pits and stage invasions and crowd surfing. You really do feed off it, it reminds me of all the reasons we wanted to do it in the first place."
