Danny O'Donoghue has opened on being mistaken for Harry Styles.

The One Direction man was thought to have reconciled with former flame Taylor Swift in February backstage at one of her London shows.

The US star was having something of a haircut party and a picture uploaded onto Instagram apparently showed a blurry Styles having fun at the event.

However, it was later revealed that the figure was The Script's Danny O'Donoghue and he told Digital Spy that the interest in the story ended up being "bizarre".

He said: "We went down and hung out with her on the last night of her tour and it was f**king hilarious. It was a haircut party - she was cutting off all her hair after the tour. We're all sitting around and there was that model Cara Delevigne, Ellie Goulding was there, Mark and I, and I had pretty long hair at the time. I turned around to Cara and was talking and Taylor took a photograph of her hair being done.

"I went home and Mark's wife sent me a text the next morning saying, 'You're all over the f**king press this morning'. I was like, 'What?' Because the photo was so blurry, apparently my head looked like Harry Styles and it went f**king viral! It was like 90,000 hits of them being like, 'Are they back together?' The press officer was like, 'I need to tell them it's you'. We had to tell them - it was a bizarre set of circumstances."
