The Script rescue woman on motorway after crash

The Script ran to the rescue of a woman after she was involved in a motorway car crash.

The band were travelling from London to Manchester this week when they saw a car hit the central reservation on the M40 in Buckinghamshire.

Singer Danny O'Donoghue and his chums stopped and pulled a woman out of the car after smoke appeared.

He told Key103: "You're never going to move somebody from an accident but if there's smoke coming from the engine then you want to get them out as quick as possible.

"The girl said she couldn't feel her legs. She was so weak, so we helped her to the side of the road, sat her down, put a jacket around her, gave her some drink and waited for the ambulance."

Witness Hayley Cockman added: "I suddenly saw a group of guys run onto the motorway. At first I thought it must have been their car and they'd all got out.

"Then I realised who the people were - they were the Script and they had just run out into the middle of the motorway to try and help the woman out of the completely smashed up car."

The woman in question was a fan of the band and managed to get a photo with the group before heading to hospital.
