The Script's Danny says V Festival organisers could have predicted Cher Lloyd bottling

Danny O'Donoghue from The Script has spoken out about the incident involving 'Swagger Jagger' hitmaker Cher Lloyd and told Gigwise that it could have been prevented.

Former X Factor star Lloyd was left shocked and upset after performing at V Festival this past weekend because her set was reportedly met with both booing and bottling from the crowd.

The Irish frontman has explained that it must have been an "awful" experience for the young singer and went on to question the target audience of the 2-day event because as a "pop" festival, Lloyd wasn't out of place on the bill:

"That's an awful thing to to happen to such a young girl, and I hope she doesn't take offence from it. I would probably have said the organisers could have seen that before it happened."

"I'm surprised it happened at V fest, that's quite a 'pop' festival. I guess the V festival-goers are going to go to watch the left-of-centre acts, but then I guess ones that are so straight forward, ones that have come off the television."
