Danny O'Donoghue says singers need more than just voice to make it big

Danny O'Donoghue has admitted that singers need more than just vocal talent to make a career out of music.

The Script man is a coach on BBC's TV talent show The Voice, which prides itself on judging aspiring stars on their ability, not looks.

Speaking to The Sun, O'Donoghue said that singers need to learn how to put themselves across when they're not on the stage or in the studio. Speaking about this year's crop of The Voice hopefuls, he said:

"There are some amazing singers on the show. But although they have a great skill, that’s the tip of the iceberg."

The singer continued: “It’s about how well-rounded they are. We only get to sing for about five per cent of our careers. The rest of it is how you conduct yourself, your plans."

The Script meanwhile recently performed for the Queen as she toured the BBC's new Broadcasting House headquarters.

The British monarch seemed nonplussed by the band's one-song show, however, offering a single hand-clap when the music stopped.
